Friday Investment Talk: UK Budget, Bonds, and SPACs

The UK Budget announcement put lowered null rates on hold for 5 years in many cases. This puts pressure on lower earners as wage inflation pushes them into tax paying brackets. Inheritance tax is likely to affect more people with large tax bills as housing prices and investment inflated during COVID.

According to Buffet, bonds are not good investments any more. Rates will eventually go higher and will be a pain trade for those relying on low levels of income.

SPACs are flying in 2021 with record numbers of companies and dollar amounts being registered. The sell off in equities has hit the IPO market hard.
